So, you've decided to take up surfing and immerse yourself in the fierce atmosphere of boards and waves. Let's quickly run through the essential accessories you'll need.

1. Lycra or long-sleeved swimsuit. Lycra is a special long-sleeved jacket that allows for comfort while surfing and also provides sun protection. Long sleeve surf swimsuits are often also referred to as Lycra.

2. Boardshorts. They fit securely around the waist and protect your legs from being worn down by the board, do not restrict movement, and also provide protection from the sun's rays. Male surfers typically wear a standard Lycra jacket and boardshorts. Women have a choice: a Lycra jacket and swimming trunks (the main thing is that they stay in place when the waves are pounding them) or a long-sleeved swimsuit.

3. A wetsuit replaces Lycra in cold water. Wetsuits come in different thicknesses and lengths for different water temperatures. The main rule of wetsuits is a tight fit! Water should not penetrate the body.

4. A surf poncho is the most versatile and comfortable item in your wardrobe! It helps you change right on the beach and keeps you warm after a day of surfing. Overall, a poncho is incredibly comfortable – we often wear it even on days we're not surfing. We absolutely adore it.

5. Caps. Caps come in two functions: for sun protection (they cover your face and ears) and for protection in cold water (they're made from the same fabric as wetsuits).

6. Hydro slippers are used to protect your feet in cold water. However, some surfers use them when surfing reef breaks to protect themselves from corals.

7. Zinc is a special thick cream that stays in the water well and offers strong sun protection. Surfers spend hours in the scorching sun, so serious face protection is essential!

8. Hydro bag – you can put your swimsuit or Lycra in it after a day of surfing without getting anything wet.
